Chamomile is widely used all over the world. Its main uses are as sedatives, anxiolytics, antispasmodic and as a treatment for mild skin inflammation and inflammation. The main active ingredients of chamomile are chamazulene, apigenin and bisabolol, which have calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Despite its widespread use as a home remedy, relatively few studies have evaluated many of chamomile's benefits.

Chamomile is used externally for wounds, ulcers, eczema, gout, skin inflammation, neuralgia, sciatica, rheumatic pain, hemorrhoids, mammitis and leg ulcers. In addition, it is used topically as a treatment for diaper rash, cracked nipples, chickenpox, poisonous vines, conjunctivitis, and as a hair tone and conditioner. The German Commission E has approved chamomile for external use against inflammation of the skin, mucous membranes, anal genital areas, bacterial skin diseases such as the oral cavity and gums, and inflammation of the respiratory tract.

Chamomile is one of the most commonly used herbs and probably doesn't need to be introduced. You'll probably drink it regularly as a nice and soothing tea, and it's also regularly on the ingredients list for skin care.

Cosmetic companies mainly use it for its anti-inflammatory properties. It contains the terpenoids chamazulene and bisabolol, both of which have excellent anti-inflammatory properties in animal studies. In addition to chamomile, it also has some antioxidant properties (thanks to several other active ingredients called matricin, apigenin, and luteolin).
